This May, Access4you hosted its first educational webinar for accredited partners to support their work and share insights and learnings about its latest add-on product to the access4you® international certification mark: Access4you Score. With interest exceeding expectations, various private individuals and members of partner organisations from all over the world, including Egypt, India, and Italy, registered for and attended the exclusive webinar.
“ESG is important, and you have to be able to measure ESG factors.” Nonetheless, “We are lacking the tools to differentiate our buildings or companies in the S aspect, and I think the Access4you Score is one of the tools which was absolutely created for it.” says Gábor Radványi —Chief Architect of the property developer Futureal Group from the client side.
The webinar’s expert speakers, Gábor Radványi – Chief Architect, Futureal Group; Tamás Méri – Co-founder and CBDO at Access4you; Róbert Kreschka – Head of Product and Audit, and Denis Uracs – Business Development Lead, discussed the possibilities and practicalities of this scoring system and how it can satisfy the growing demand for third-party certified data during the event organized for partners.
What is it all about?
Access4you’s accredited partners know that disability inclusion benefits both business and society. That is why they joined Access4you’s mission of making society more inclusive and the built environment more accessible for everyone and also in line with business interests.
The Access4you Score offers measurable third-party data about the accessibility level of a location, which means valuable information for ESG reporting and social sustainability KPI setting for building owners.
During the webinar, Róbert Kreschka highlighted another important value proposition for all partners to know: “This [the Access4you Score] allows the client to compare their buildings within their portfolio or even position themselves against the competitors or in the industry.”
Such solutions are in demand, and Access4you’s network of accredited partners helps Access4you spread its practices and ideas globally.
How does it work?
Auditors of the HQ team and members of A4U’s international partner network assess the accessibility of the built environment with an innovative methodology. Based on the accessibility needs of the 8+1 stakeholder groups, they measure the locations’ level of inclusion on a scale of ‘Certified location’, ‘Bronze’, ‘Silver’, and ‘Gold’ with the access4you® international certification mark. Based on the data from this accessibility audit, experts calculate the Access4you Score.
Gábor Radványi (Futureal) says: “We started to think how we can make our buildings even more inclusive…” and added, “I believe everyone should think the same way, not because it’s a scoring system, not because it’s another stamp on the facade, but because we are human beings, and there are other people who [People with disabilities] we might have to help.”
By nature, the certification mark is good for society because it allows clients to share a freely available location profile on their own channels, which is also available on Access4you’s website and mobile app. Not only that, but all that information can be filtered down by the individual needs of each stakeholder group, including wheelchair users, people pushing pram, people with visual impairment, people with hearing impairment, and people with cognitive impairment.
On the other hand, it is good for businesses because building owners, stakeholders and business owners can add a unique building certification to their portfolio, showcasing their efforts for social sustainability, as mentioned above.
