CTP’s commitment to sustainability – Client Interview

Interview with dr Ferenc Gondi

Accessibility and disability inclusion affect all segments of life and the built environment, including logistics centres, parks, and areas. As CTPark Budapest Office Campus has successfully achieved the Access4you Certificate ‘Certified Location’ rank, we asked dr. Ferenc Gondi, Managing Director of our esteemed client CTP Hungary, about the certification and his stance on these matters.

CTPark Budapest Office Campus has achieved the Access4you Certificate. Let’s introduce the location itself!

The CTPark Budapest Office is a modern, high-quality, cost-efficient and mixed-use facility that offers both office space and storage room. The location is quite unique, as most of the logistics parks are located on the borders of Budapest or outside, while this one is easily and quickly accessible by public transport in a prominent location of the capital. The area has gardens, 24-hour security, surface parking, and on-site shuttle bus services, meaning we take extra care to ensure that our tenant community experiences as many aspects of the employee experience as possible.

Now that you mentioned employee experience –  why is it important for CTP and for you to advocate for social responsibility and what steps do you take to strengthen these values?

When designing and building our logistics parks, we ensure a truly natural environment. Not only do energy and electricity come from green sources, but the significant landscaping and afforestation also support real environmental consciousness. We are fully committed to sustainability; hence, almost all buildings in our regional and Hungarian portfolio are BREEAM-certified. As for CTP’s renewable energy capacity, we can proudly highlight the company’s solar power plants.

These complexes are fully committed to the well-being of their employees, and in the communities where our parks are located. We also contribute to improving the quality of life through various improvements, from renovating a playground to improving public utilities to supporting sports days and organising blood donations. By the end of the year, we will have installed defibrillators in all CTP’s logistics parks in the country, which will be available not only to tenants but also to residents of the municipalities, making all the company’s logistics parks a life-saving point.

How did you learn about Access4you, and what motivated you to prioritize equality in this regard?

CTP is constantly developing its logistics parks to maximise ESG aspects for sustainability and social responsibility, creating thriving and active communities involving tenants and local residents. Social responsibility is an important component of ESG, including supporting employees with limited mobility as part of equality and striving to empower them to develop their talents and potential in a safe and inclusive environment. Access4you’s team, its rating system and professional support play a very important role in this responsible work.

What motivates you to focus on accessibility in the logistics real estate market?

I would tackle this question by looking at the big picture so that we can understand the general context. Inclusion, or equality and diversity, is now an increasingly important part of socio-economic life on a global scale, including in the world of workplaces, whether offices or logistics centres. Equal opportunities are of key importance to us, so we take into account different needs and working styles when designing logistics parks, halls, and workplaces and create spaces that are suitable for all employees, including those with limited mobility. This approach also significantly supports our partners’ placing greater emphasis on inclusion in their operations.

How has working with Access4you changed your perspective and perception of accessibility?

Access4you has dedicated a huge amount of energy to helping people with disabilities live full lives in the workplace. This is why we have started to work together –  with the aim of obtaining the highest level of Access4you Certificate for our buildings. Our aim is to integrate employees with disabilities into the tenant communities of our logistics parks.

How do you see the business advantages of the Access4you Certificate and accessibility?

In fact, the certificate is proof of our commitment to creating human-centric logistics parks. The key is to ensure that all our tenants’ employees are equally valued members of the logistics parks’ working community, which means that we support the integration of people with disabilities both mentally and physically and help them to carry out their daily tasks.

In our projects, inclusive design, project implementation and operation not only help the groups that need it physically but also benefit the whole organisation by organising employees into a community, enhancing the workplace experience and productivity. This effort not only demonstrates our dedication to social responsibility but also helps us create a workplace climate where the productivity and competitiveness of tenants and their employees increase, because where we feel good, we can perform even better.
